Important Duas for Umrah: Tawaf, Sa'i, Madinah Visit & Ziyarat
6 min read

There is no compulsory fixed dua for every circuit. These are the authentic supplications tied to each rite, plus guidance on making dua in your own words.
The Talbiyah
Recited from entering Ihram until you begin Tawaf: Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayka la sharika laka labbayk, Innal-hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak. Men raise their voices; women recite quietly.
Entering the Haram and Seeing the Kaaba
On entering: Allahummaftah li abwaba rahmatik. On first sight of the Kaaba, raise your hands and ask for whatever you need — this is a moment of accepted dua. Ask for both worlds, for your parents, and for those who asked you to pray for them.
During Tawaf
Between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone recite: Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina 'adhab an-nar. In the remaining stretches, dhikr, Quran or personal dua in Urdu are all valid.
During Sa'i
On climbing Safa recite: Innas-Safa wal-Marwata min sha'a'irillah, then Allahu Akbar three times facing the Kaaba, followed by personal dua. Repeat the pattern at Marwah for each lap.
Zamzam and Madinah
Before drinking Zamzam: Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an wa rizqan wasi'an wa shifa'an min kulli da'. In Madinah, send Salam upon the Prophet ﷺ at the Rawdah, then upon Abu Bakr and Umar (RA), calmly and without crowding others.
