An Umrah in Ramadan carries the reward of Hajj, but it is also the hardest month logistically. Prepare properly and it becomes the journey of a lifetime.
The Reward
The Prophet ﷺ said that an Umrah performed in Ramadan is equal in reward to a Hajj performed with him. Every voluntary act is multiplied, and the last ten nights include Laylatul Qadr.
What to Expect
Over two million worshippers may attend Taraweeh in the Haram. Entry to the Mataf is restricted at peak times, roads close, and hotel prices peak in the final ten days. Patience is itself part of the worship.
Practical Preparation
Book five to six months ahead, choose the closest hotel you can afford, arrive at the Haram at least 90 minutes before Maghrib and Isha to secure a place, and rest during the day so you can worship at night.
Iftar and Suhoor
